Damn, this thread reminds me, I gotta take the shop vac to the shower drain sometime soon, it's been running slow. That thing will speed it right up.

0 I've never tried that trick. Works good? I can't imagine it working with any open drains like sinks and stuff though. We usually chuck some chemicals in it or snake it.
I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head

0 I have to plug the sink drain and the overflow in the bathroom when I do it, then you end up sucking the traps dry too and get some smell, but it works.

0 Interesting. I'll have to remember this if we ever get a big clog again.

0 This started out with a simple tile remodel.
Here's whats "surprised" us so far. Plumbing didnt match. Hubby changed it, did it wrong, sprung a ginormous spray. The faucet had a small undectable drip that got EVERYTHING wet. Hubby read directions wrong on grout and let dry for 2 hrs instead of 20 minutes. Not a good idea.at.all. Kid pissed in toilet. Screws for faucet are too long and hit wood supports. Didnt realize what a bitch working with mosaic would be and how much it shows "mistakes" There will be more. Thankfully my mantra is "It is what it is"

0 I think all in all it came out nice. At least your 'surprises' were not Pandora's Box opening up. Every time we attempt a project in this house we find all kinds of fucked up shit from either the builder taking shortcuts or the people prior to us botching and jury-rigging whatever they did. After the middle room I got two more rooms to take out that stupid paneling and put real walls up.
If you notice those yellow walls in my bedroom are painted paneling. 6 coats to cover the stupid flowers!

0 The guy we bought the house from is named Harry. My husband nicknamed him "Harry Houdini" cuz there is all kinds of magical shit in our house that shouldn't be happening. The guy was a "do it yourselfer" hack.

0 Maybe I'll work on my mystery switch this week.
Last year at this time I had to move the laundry out of the basement up to the first floor, I had a nice room that was my "bicycle shop", but now there is a wash machine and a dryer in it. |
