I'm sure that most people don't agree with late-term abortions. I know I don't. When people talk about the right to have abortions, they usually think about the early ones where the fetus is barely fully formed and isn't yet a baby in all the ways that applies. they tend to get squeamish and uncomfortable at the thought of extremely late ones.

again, you're basically assuming that every woman here is one of those hardcore feminists, who puts the rights of her gender above else at the expense of others. I don't think any one of us is that extreme, far as I know. I know I'm not.

also this accusation of yours also doesn't make sense at all, considering that most of us are concerned about keeping young boys intact and healthy. if we were such man-haters, we shouldn't even care whenever a boy's reproductive parts could potentially become disfigured beyond recognition when he grows up into an adult.

I'm more of an egalitarian, which means that I take the rights of men into equal consideration alongside the rights of women. I'm all too aware that there's plenty of unfair double standards at play in the courts when it comes to parental rights. of course, I tend to believe this should stop.

I think you're still taking things too personally and now is assigning all sorts of stereotypes to us to make us the bad guy. in fact, I think maybe we could start a thread on what people here thinks of Abortion and let's see just how many of us are those "evil feminists" that you seem to think we are.

I dislike the term "pro abortion". Its' the right to choose that is the issue, no one is "pro abortion".

I agree. I started up a new thread about this, so that it wouldn't cause this thread to go off topic.

We're not so uptight about threads going in different directions around here, Aurora. Conversations among people do that in real life so I'm not so much a stickler on the forums.

Let's see how heated that one gets though! Abortion usually is a very hot topic.

You're wrong about the father's rights to the child when it's still in the womb. Maybe that is a state by state issue?

Roe -V- Wade is a federal law.

A resolution to avoid an evil is seldom framed till the evil is so far advanced as to make avoidance impossible.

I don't know the wording of Roe V Wade. I'll have to look it up when I have time. I know there have been cases where the father wanted the child and the mother was stopped from having an abortion.

I gave up on the abortion issue long ago. I am pro-death. In fact, I hope American society continues to grow more dysfunctional in the hopes we'll reach rock bottom faster. Plus, it means less rodents taking advantage of my tax dollars.

When it's clear that the baby has a healthy penis, one that isn't prone to infection ever in his life so far?

I've dated both men who had circumcised penises and those who weren't cut. and I honestly saw no difference between the two, espeically when they're erect. They all basically look the same when erect... the only difference is that the uncut's penis has a tiny bit of loose skin when flaccid and that's it. and all the uncut men I dated told me that they never had any infection issue.

so again, it's that whole 1% getting infected while the 99% of uncut men doesn't have any issues like that. why insist that all boys get circumcised when it's only a tiny minority of infants that gets infected? after all, all good parents know how to use soap and how to wash genitals properly to prevent that from happening. and they can teach their kids to wash down there. it's not that hard.

The only time it would ever be a medical issue is if it got infected and had to be removed, just like with tonsils.

I don't know why that would be so hard to understand.

Well the issue has arisen (no pun intended) with our friends grandson.

He was born with a water infection and put on 3 months of antibiotics much against the parents wishes.
While we were visiting at the weekend the baby was called into hospital. The infection had got worse.
It turns out the mother decided he was 'looking less jaundiced' so stopped the antibiotics (which actually had nothing to do with the infection).

Poor mite was put on a drip over night but allowed home during the day. His penis was very sore and a doctor mentioned circumcision which could stop the water infection. The parents agreed but then the consultant came along and pointed out the infection was a kidney problem and to circumcise was a pointless exercise. If the infection isn't cleared he may have to have the kidney removed later in life Shok

It turns out mother isn't changing the nappies often enough or letting the baby have 'kick time'.
