Trying to find a pet friendly hotel inland has become a full time occupation. I'm TRYING to NOT have to go out to Michigan.

I'm on the shore. I need a place to hunker down for the storm that will accommodate a dog and 6 cats that won't cost me an arm and a leg. I'm batting 0 so far.

My only other choice is to drive to Michigan to Matt's dad. Not a good choice when you have to stuff 6 cats and a dog in a Mustang for 10 hours.

Hotels are not making any concessions for pets.
A shelter is out of the question. I don't trust my dog with kids as she's never been around them. Plus she'll freak out to no end.

I'm not leaving the animals. Don't even entertain the idea.

If anyone knows of any pet friendly places in NJ with a room for Sat and Sun please hook me up with their number. I'm going out to get people supplies now. Got pet supplies yesterday.

I can't find a comprehensive list of evacuations ordered online. If anyone has a useful link please hook me up with that too.

There's no way it's bypassing anything or anyone Trudi. I'm under evac orders now and I've no place to go.

If we take the ONE hotel that will have us, we will have to forgo food for when we return home. and that's IF we can get home after, which means we're on the street because we can't afford more than two nights in the hotel. Extra $70 / night for the animals too.

None of my local friends will accommodate. You'd think my mom would offer to make do. Not a chance. She calls with a list of public shelters for us that take pets. What part of NO CANNOT DO PUBLIC SHELTER WITH THIS DOG does she not understand?

I have all the supplies and preparations to go, I just have no place to go.

I've been crying all morning over this. I'm done doing favors for any of my friends. Fuck them. No more swimming in my pool when you're hot. No more making a thousand calls when you need to find a home for an animal, no more money to lend you, no more haircuts and dye jobs. fuck you all

Just seen the BBC news and how everything is getting ready. They only talked of the hospitals and sheltered housing.
Sounds like 'someone' is monopolising and that shouldn't be allowed. Mark said in Bermuda the hotels take people in, the staff, their families, friends and old folk and they sit it out together. I know Sara was management in her hotel, she would take her dog in with her.

You are going to have to take the truck and car too so they don't get damaged.

I know Trudi. If we head out anywhere, it's west toward Michigan.
They closed the parkway here going south. Closed the bridges to the barrier islands and all islands had a mandatory evac. I'm on the mainland and they didn't call for evacuations here. A good sign.

I'm on a high point in the neighborhood too but my worry is the big ass tree on the front yard. If it comes down due to water, and if it comes down toward my house, it WILL split my house in two. That will suck.

All vehicles are ready to be loaded swiftly with animals and provisions. We're ready.

Hospitals here don't take in people as shelters. They evacuate them here and they're doing that now in many of the ones near the water. Hotels are just pricks and won't even lower prices for emergencies. Won't even waive the no pets policy for this. I'll be making sure I advertise the list of hotels who turned me down on facebook. Let everyone know.

My internet friend Beth called me and offered me to stay with her in Philly but I think they have the bridges closed or will have them closed. Why is it all my internet friends are offering to help but not a single local "real life" friend is? Robin promised to call me 8 hours ago. Screw them too. All of them - I'm so pissed!
