I am sorry to hear about your vet, that sucks for anybody, I hope the kitty is feeling better.
I had to bury one of my old outdoor cats last week after an accident. I did OK until I was actually taking her out to put her in the ground.....fucking dumb cats.

I will say one thing, they are a damn tough animal, I've seen them bunches of times where you think that there is no possible way that they can survive and they come back around like nothing ever happened. I've learned to never give up on them till they stop breathing.

I have always figured that when they are sick and not eating if I can get time to eat anything it is better than nothing.

I'm just throwing this idea out there. We need a thread for bad hair cut pictures.

Any cat I've had that was diagnosed with kidney problems was a goner... I've found in my experience that they don't recover from that.

No they don't recover from kidney issues and normally I don't let the vets do all the crazy invasive treatments either. Doc always agreed with me that 99% of the time they don't work. I cannot fathom how the animal feels and you can't explain to them that torturing them at the vets like that is good for their 'health'.

There was a marked improvement this morning! He's up, head up now too and he's talkative again! Still sapped of energy but he is eating as much as he can and was happy to have Goliath give his ears a good cleaning this morning!

Twistie, you're right about how tough they are. We thought we were going to lose Thing 1 last summer. She went absolutely yellow on us and literally lost weight overnight. It was the food. Mom gave me a bag of some really "good" (good meaning by the ingredient list) cat food that hers wouldn't touch. Turned out that shit sucked the life out of her and some of the others had a hard time with dehydration too. She was given medication for weeks but she's back to being fat, sassy and always on my lap again.

They are tough creatures, yet delicate at the same time.

I am happy to hear Chucky is doing better. Maybe he will pull through and be around a little longer.

That kitty that my Mom just adopted is the noisiest thing ever!! She talks and talks and talks all the time. When my son leaves to get the bus in the morning (he gets it at my mom's house) she stands at the door crying because he left. She waits for him at the door in the morning and afternoon too. Naming her Gabby was perfect. I can't believe someone just dumped her. She is the sweetest kitty.

You'd be surprised what people dump. Chucky was dumped on me.

I've had a llama and a bison tied to my fence once. On separate occasions but still - these morons see a farm and think you take in everything forgetting it takes money to feed them and vet them, nevermind keeping llamas and bison were by special permit only.

A llama and a bison? Wow. I can't even imagine coming out one day and having a llama tied to my fence.
