A relationship should complement each other and not be a battle of wits.

Happy New Everyone

Just woke up from the curry party we had last night with a few friends. Going to be late for the car show we go to on the Prom! Run

We're just getting our day going too. Off to the Mall and Wally World to exchange and return a ton of gifts.
Gave a few of the childish ones to the women's shelter.

This is seriously solid advice.

Anyhow, how was the Greek food? I found a helluva Greek Place in Sierra Vista, AZ (RE : NOWHERE) when I was at Ft. Huachuca. Sadly, I haven't found another as good as it was (assuming I have found one at all) since.

We gorged ourselves on exquisite food. Two guys directly from Greece bought the only local Greek restaurant we used to frequent. It used be owned by a guy who knew nothing about the food but wanted a restaurant. He failed because he didn't cook authentically enough AND he gave the stuff away to ensure repeat business.

These two guys took over and OMG the food is to die for. Their hummus leaves something to be desired though, but I think Greek style hummus is different than what I'm used to - Syrian/Lebanese style that I grew up with. the Greeks put that really strong Greek oregano on everything! That can be an acquired taste in itself.

So we got a ton of leftovers from there, some leftover from the Chinese food the other day and some Mexican leftovers. We have an international smorgasbord of leftovers for dinner tonight.

We traded a mess of crap in the stores, including that shitty Xbox. I'll post separately about that.

We're pissed at Verizon. They changed the time of the alumni game we had set to record - AND we set it to the changed time but the asshats over at Verizon didn't update the guide and we got half an hour of the game recorded. Thank god for repeats in the middle of the night. We got it on DVR now and can watch that at our leisure.

It's looking like we're going out to an Irish Pub tonight, Sean Kelly's. One of the best places in the area, founded by an Irishmen no less. And surprisingly, despite being Irish, they can really cook some excellent food.

I find the Irish food to be delicious as long as I'm not eating mutton or some over boiled meat that looks gray. English food on the other hand.... well, I haven't found anything I like yet except Penguin biscuits Biggrin

I know, they really do. However, I like to make fun of the bog trotters.

I imagine the Mexican food in the Northeast is likely.......not the same or more bland than the stuff that I encountered on the border. I am ruined on any other Mexican food for the rest of my life. The Southwest is the place to be for that.

We have a few good Mexican places. You have to get one that is run by Mexican immigrants. We had a great place here but they didn't get enough business so they're long gone. Most are chain places here, El Chico, Chevy's (blech) but if you find a mom and pop operation you got the good stuff, and not that Tex-mex crap.

You got to remember, except for NJ, if you go into NYC, you can get ANYTHING and it's the good stuff. Very little hunting for it too. That's why I love this area, so much packed into a small area.

Yeah I know Anthony. We have a couple down here, little holes in the wall kind of joints. I always try to go to the ethnic neighborhood to get the best food, avoid chains - which seems to be getting harder and harder to do.
