You should grab yourself a slab of the dried apricot paste. It's like candy, good for you and lasts forever and great for when you need that sugar rush in the afternoon or late night snack. Fits neatly in a backpack but do watch if it gets cold. It will need warming up to tear it.

Matt's friend told him they call it 'sticky meat' and as kids we called it 'shoe leather'.

My granny used to make blackberry jam from the bushes in her garden, it was tangy and sweet at the same time.

That's exactly how that apricot paste tastes! Tangy and sweet all at once. When I was a kid, they didn't use preservatives in it like they have now. It was better then because if you left the package open, it would get just a tiny bit more leathery. Then it was perfect.

Funny, the packaging is still exactly the same but they had to add that stupid preservative shit. The whole idea of drying and making it a paste is to preserve it.
