Yeah, it's wifi. The old one could connect (slowly) on its own to amazon.com for downloads and stuff but this is much faster. It's got full internet access, netflix viewing capabilities, lots of apps... you can even download movies to take on the go.

Cool. I got the WiFi version of the old one last year. If I knew this was coming out, I'd have waited!

I figure mom will like this as an intro to tablets/smart phones.

And you're right, the old one's experimental browser SUCKS! I don't bother since I have the iPhone. I just use my Kindle for reading as I do enjoy the background and lettering much better than my phone for that.

I bought one two years ago and spent $370. Now the little bastards are $199 for a mini-tablet. Oh well.
