0 I drive a Ford F250 Super Duty Diesel - 7.3L engine, 6 speed, 4x4, long bed, Super Cab. They don't see many of those for everyday driving in England.

0 It's snowing in upstate NY and I just picked a zucchini and a strawberry out of my garden.
This has been the weirdest growing season for veggies I've ever had. Nothing all summer and now that I pulled tomato plants out and the peppers, zucchini revamped itself. Cukes just stopped two days ago and I pulled the cherry tomatoes out over the weekend and put the green fruit in a bag to ripen indoors. Strawberries should be done by the end of August for everbearing and I'm getting new fruit daily. The zucchini barely grew all summer due to the excessive heat and I thought they were about done and one day they spring up and I'm lousy with veggies.

0 What a horrible day. Trip to the haunted seaport is not going to happen and there is no make-up day. Today was the last day. Hope it's nice tomorrow. Maybe we'll go apple picking and get lost in 400 yards of woods.

There is no power steering on the Saab V4 and after the Renault 4 it is a totally different way of driving. The Renault is light, rolls on corners, higher visibility with very few 'blind spots' and nippy but very robust. The Saab on the other hand has brilliant road holding (why the 2 stroke won so many rallies) and more forgiving getting you out of trouble quicker but the weight after the Renault is the stumbler. Think empty baked bean can on wheels then getting in a house brick on wheels. Mark and I have just returned from a hotel weekend with the Saab club. Great fun and wonderful to see our friends AND others we haven't seen in ages (I mean years). We have got another engine out of the trip (go to collect it in 2 weeks) just as well really. Philip called us to ask why the red light would come on on the dash. He checked the fan-belt and the alternator. The balance shaft has gone This is the only 2nd car to go like this we have owned and there is no warning.

0 Anyone want a Mother?
I call mine to say we are home since she had phoned the house twice while we were away. I called her at 8am Friday morning (before she goes back to bed) to tell her we were about to leave and did she and Dad want to go too? There was a spare ferry crossing and accommodation if they wanted a break. She said no, and asked when we would be back. So I called her to find out why she started to phone all weekend. 1 My aunt in Cornwall had a scan in preparation for a back op' and was called back to the clinic. They discovered she has breast cancer. They have operated today and postponed the back operation for the foreseeable future That doesn't sound good....does it? 2 My aunt in West Virginia has agreed to cancel Christmas as advised by my Mother. It cost my mum £28 to collect the parcel last year £20 customs charge (REGARDLESS that it was gifts) and £8 admin' charge. 2 She went to the All Saints service only to find it is next week and did I know? No I didn't. Would I go now I did? Um........ok, pick you up at 10.30am. This last bit of info came first, either that was to soften the blow about the other news or knowing my mum, to her Sunday morning was wasted for her.
