There's a bit of discussion in this house about people who are treating active duty personnel as veterans. That's kind of pissing me off. Veteran is a past tense declaration for one who has served and is not active.
Active duty will have their Veterans Day once they are done with their enlistment. They deserve respect daily, but not to glom onto those who've done their time.
And I'm also sick of hearing "Happy Memorial Day". There's nothing happy about remembering our fallen.
Is this really that difficult to understand?
