To all the veterans on this site, I hope you all had a great day today.
We just got home from the city and the USS Intrepid museum. It was really nice. There was a ceremony honoring the veterans on the flight deck and many of the original Intrepid crew were there and honored as well.
I'll post more tomorrow but I did learn that a new law was passed last year saying ALL veterans - retired, or just done with their term are now authorized to salute the flag where it's deemed necessary.
I always believed that any veteran, active or not should have the honor of choosing to salute or hold their hand over their heart. I didn't know it wasn't allowed until Matt told me. But, now you all can.
