This whole thing will probably go just like when the initial law went in. They hit hard for 2 weeks then it faded away because the cops got tired of working too hard.

Laws only work if they are enforced.

Highly doubtful. Any excuse to be a bitchy thug the cops here take. They are always lining up the highways and stuff normally, so why would they let off? Some prick has a bad day at home? Pick on the motorists. very typical here and it's rare when you get a "cool cop". I was shocked to find this out when I moved here from NY back in '88 and it's only gotten worse. NY cops were always cool - at least the city cops were/are.
