New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - Twitchin Kitten - 04-01-2018 #notmygovernor Governor Sleazebag Murphy has decided to up the ante on fucking us over as free citizens. My radar detector has been off the charts the last week or so and now I know why. This article and it's source article shows how we can now get a driving ticket and POINTS for a variety of bullshit they consider "distracted driving" - one of which includes talking to your passenger. seriously. So any cop feeling itchy can just say he saw your lips moving and give you a ticket. http://943thepoint.com/big-fines-and-points-start-sunday-in-nj-if-you-text-and-drive/ And this is the state link for these things: http://www.nj.gov/oag/hts/dd_crackdown_overview.html Anyone not interested in reading the links might have their interest piqued when you read this: Quote:A new crackdown is beginning. Some of the things you could get pulled over for may surprise you! RE: New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - twisteroo - 04-01-2018 Yeah, just a money grab and a way to lay the blame on you for an accident. RE: New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - Twitchin Kitten - 04-02-2018 At this point I might as well hit the gas and see if I can outrun them. The fines would probably be less! ![]() RE: New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - twisteroo - 04-02-2018 At a certain age we get too feeble to run. Don't the cops have souped up challengers out there? RE: New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - LKTraz - 04-03-2018 You might outrun the cop car but you can't outrun the radio! If they have enough of them out there and got your plate you're pretty well done for. PA has been doing the overpass thing for years but usually it's due to running either radar or lidar. PSP had a little used but effective when it was out there tool for catching text/handset users. It was a tractor trailer with 2 cops so they can see from both sides. It had the PSP logo on the doors and said POLICE backwards on the bug shield above the grill so nobody can say it's unmarked. They used it on the turnpike for a while and had good results. Just radio ahead to a waiting chase car and BINGO! The only reason they don't use it any more is that it takes quite a few chase cars placed on the road on the patrol route. I think they took the stickers off and just use it for picking up freight for the capital complex now. With those fines, be glad they aren't like for commercial drivers. Federally mandated fines are for first offense (texting or handset) $1,500, 2nd offense $2,000 and 6 month license suspension and 3rd offense $2,500 and revocation of CDL. RE: New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - Twitchin Kitten - 04-03-2018 I guess I'll just have to get some gadget to flip the license plate when I see the rollers! They'll never get me muahahahahaha! NEVER I tell you! RE: New "Big" fines for NJ drivers - twisteroo - 04-03-2018 As long as road head is not on the list I don't care what they do. |
