0 Nice. I hate you.
it's 24º out. Record low for today. Should be in the 50's but that's not happening for at least a week. Frozen ick all over now and even though the inside thermometer says it's 73º in the house, I'm freezing. I just can't get warm. At least the wind stopped and I don't have to worry if that big tree is going to split and fall on my house. Gonna have to break down and call a tree guy this year when the leaves are up and get some weight off that thing.

A correction can happen at any time. This spring has been really mild and warm. So much so that in February I never even bought gas for the truck, I rode so much. Or biggest risk with the early spring is the fire danger will be really high unless we get some more snow down here, not up in the mountains. Not to mention my kid was in Boston this week doing a service call. They had to take Tuesday off because of the weather.

0 We ended up with 23" here and drifting up to 40".
The wind is still blowing the shit around causing whiteouts and the roads are drifting shut. As far as work goes, the entire fleet was shut down on Tuesday, only a few drivers worked yesterday and I was supposed to be one of them but, I ended up sick and called off. Today there are limited loads moving and I am not running due to late starting times since they need me to run early tomorrow. If I ran today I wouldn't be able to get the D.O.T. required 10 hours off between tours so I'll just eat up some PTO and call in by 3 today for an early (between midnight and 3am) load tomorrow. As it was, I fought my way out of the driveway and went in to clear off my tractor before I called for a load. They told me nothing today and hadn't realized I came in. Kinda sheepishly they told me to head back home but I told them no big deal as I would need to clean the truck off anyway and better to get it done at 8 am today than tomorrow in the middle of the night.

0 Friday afternoon it hit 101º in the shade here at 5:45 PM. Yesterday it got so cold overnight I had to put the heat on for 5 minutes to take the chill out of the house. Now that's extreme! And so very out of the norm for around here.

It's not unusual to hit high 90's over Memorial Day weekend here but the extreme drop right after is very unusual. Looking like we're getting back to "normal" now. It's actually been a shitty spring here. We've had so much rain this year they say we're ahead of the game. I better not hear drought.

0 It's been a wet spring here. It always makes me nervous, it just raises the fire danger of summer.

0 Wouldn't the wet spring reduce the fire danger? I don't get it. We get warnings for fire when it's been dry.
