We are running out of water in Cape Town, apparently only 100 days of water left if we don't drastically change our ways. Restrictions aren't really helping cause people are not listening. I literally walk with a small watering can and water my plants one by one We are having fires all over too Sad

water usage remains high in Cape Town
City of Cape Town issues dire water usage warning

What the hell will they do if you do run out? Are you irrigated through natural resources and catching water in a reservoir or are you guys like out in some areas of the Caribbean where your water is literally brought in daily and that source is drying out?

Some people have boreholes but to get one is quite expensive. Our dams where our tap water is sourced from are all running alarmingly low. I have no idea what we are going to do. We usually get lots of rainfall in the winter... Winter is only coming up in June.

We will probably start fetching water daily from f-knows where... I am used to just opening the tap.

Someone needs to do a friggin' rain dance!

You guys have like no humidity too. That doesn't help with slowing down evaporation!

Is this a first time occurrence that you know of or just in your lifetime? And are "bore holes" what we call wells or those are something different?

No we never get humid weather here, we've had water restrictions before but nothing as bad as now. It kinda feels like they can do more to raise awareness and to regulate it. People are still doing whatever they want. I reaaaaaally like my daily showers I don't want to be without water.

I had to go check the difference between a well and a borehole...

"The saying Water Boreholes and Water wells has become confusing over the last 10 years. A water borehole is a drilled hole using machinery and is the diameter of a borehole starts around 2 inch and can go to as large as 2 foot depending on how much water is required."

Excuse me, I have a dance to go do

Yesterday I had all the windows open. Today I'm freezing and it's freakin' snowing outside and sticking. It's not getting out of the 30's all next week.

March sucks.

OMG, talk about crazy weather, we had 80-100 mph winds the other day and it was about 50 degrees, lots of damage and power was out for 2 days. I just got my internet back, no it's 10 degrees and snowing like a bastard.
Your signatures annoy me.

We had that wind too. I thought the big tree out front was going to split and fall onto the house. I was picking up big branches all over the place. I saw you were getting bombed up north. Right now it's 21º here. wtf? Now they are whining about some storm of the year coming for Tuesday or some shit. This sucks. It just sucks.

Yeah the entire northeast is looking for a nasty assed snowfall.

Some are predicting a storm that will be just about like in 1993 with assloads of white shit dumping in short order.
