0 Mark, you can "camp" for just overnight on any of the highway rest stops but you cannot hook up electric or plumbing. You'll also be surrounded by a lot of trucks who rarely shut off their engines overnight. Camping on the side of the road is a no-no!

0 There ARE some wide spot pull offs but they are quite rare and generally on roads that you likely wouldn't be travelling.
Trucks are now prohibited by law from idling BUT that doesn't mean it still doesn't happen. Your best bet is to research campgrounds and RV parks. Some do have the option of no services parking which would save you money. There are truckstops that have RV cleanout (septic and gray water dump) areas for a small fee.
