Renting an RV can be costly. It may be slightly cheaper than a hotel room though. It all depends where, when etc. Figure around $1500.00 USD per week at the minimum.
It is convenient and campgrounds are abundant. There is an app called Campgrounds (i think that one is for iPhone only) and another one that lists all KOA campgrounds
Those two will get you started. You can park in the driveway when you're here which is convenient too.
I'm not sure where to point you to for renting an RV other than a local dealership. There are people who do rent their own private vehicles out and I've also seen them advertised on Craigslist.

That's a good site, Biker. Sadly their pickup point here in NJ is really far away from their "landing point".

Most that I've found are on the West Coast rolling the cost of hotel and car rental this seems better since won't be going into cities

I say why us a site,when you have toilet,and showers on board.If only for one night,as long as it is safe.Normally use laybys side roads here although some supermarkets allow there are regulations
