Gas explosion in JFK High School in the Bronx was due to some idiot putting a torch to the gas line.

This article says one thing but the news I'm currently listening to says that someone was testing the line with a lit match.
Either way, the idiot deserves the Darwin Award. You just don't test a gas line with fire.
