I was thinking of roughing up the inside of the clamp. That might do it.

Twist, do those pedals come in pairs? Also I found a better review on the cheaper ones than those that you linked.

This page, last two pedals priced $8.99 and $11.99. The cheaper one has better reviews.

http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10052&storeId=10053&langId=-1&categoryId=205143&metaData=&pageSize=&orderBy=&searchTerm=

Also, I can't seem to find it but do they come sold in pairs or individually? I can't see individual being useful.

Nike makes some running shoes that are really light as hell, I thought I picked up an empty box when I was going to try them on haha like twist said anything will be an upgrade over water shoes you might as well be biking with those vibram shoes haha.

I had a set of pedals like the ones you are showing when I first changed out my pedals from the standard trek ones. Mine lasted a while grip was always good but the shaft and the connecting arms were made from plastic and broke eventually. Those are made of metal so probably will last, only thing I could see if if you hit them into a rock or something really solid it might bend the outer part of the pedal in and deshape the pedal.

It can dent and ding it all day long as long as it's useable. The plastic is crap and I looked at mine and it looks almost as if the bolt into the arm is plastic too. I find it weird the cheaper of the two have the better review. One guy said he needed to back down on the bearings to make them spin properly and I can do that too. Good thing I'm handy Biggrin

I've never seen a lone pedal for sale, that would mean they would need to sell a left and a right.
This was said in the comments about the cheaper ones.
Quote:Most bikes have a 9/16" hole for the pedals to fit in. This on fits in a 1/2" hole.
So make sure you get the right size shaft. It mentions "for kids bikes" also, so check the size.
I've never had a problem with a Nashbar brand name product.
Your signatures annoy me.

Yeah, if they are small that's OK since my bike might as well be a kid's size with that 13" frame.
I saw those comments so I'll have to measure. Do you still have that link where we found all those specs for all kinds of bikes? The one you showed me before I bought the Trek. I'd like to put it in that bike link sticky.

OK This is fucking creepy. We're talking about shoes in this thread and now on my facebook page there are targeted ads for running shoes.

That's it! For the life of me I couldn't remember the name of the site. I'm going to include it in that sticky.

For your seat slippage problem.................

Set it to the LOWEST you want it to be able to go.
Mark it with a Sharpie/permanent marker.
Go to a snowplow parts dealer (or TSC since they have all the stuff for way less) and get the hitch pin that locks a plow pin in. Looks like a cotter pin but it's straight on one side and somewhat contoured on the other. Drill a hole just big enough for the pin to slide into and VIOLA.....one lock pin for the seat bar!

That way if you have it set a little higher normally the pin will stop it at your lowest acceptable point.

I'm not drilling any holes. Good idea though, but not gonna do it.
