My body is not a slab. LOL wish it was.

Solid cement is not a good idea around here. It doesn't last forever and the old stoop was cement and it crumbled to dust. The block is better because if there are any repairs that need doing to the house foundation it's easy to pull them up and put them back. Also I just can't afford to buy the cement. I already have the materials for the block left over from the patios. I'm doing a 'fix up to sell' deal.

When I get home I will post a pic of my cement steps. Old as fuck and still work. I just never use salt on them.

These were poorly made cinder block - not cement block and they painted them and doctored them and the center was filled with dirt and it all just collapsed. The front is doing the same. all the block is loose now and ready to die.

Who knows how old these steps are. 25 years ago I yanked the out 14 feet with my old Datsun car when I built the deck.

Wow, those are old. I just got done painting the door. I only made one mistake with the cut on the aluminum plate on the door jamb bottom. I cut straight lines and this tweaking we did needs to have that thing cut with "L"'s on the ends. Oh well. No big deal. $10 at Home Depot.

power wash the shoit outta your block holes and fill with cement after you drive rebar in there /problem

OK got the door done and started filling in the sand base for the blocks.

Don't tell me to put rebar and cement. It's not happening. The pile of sand is wet so I have to do this in batches and let some of it dry as it's really heavy for me.

Just need to get weather stripping for the door and the aluminum plate for the bottom and a new doorbell.

The nasty hunk of wood in front of the door is only so I don't drag sand into the house.
The bit of wood you see unpainted under the door step will be covered up by the long base for the small deck.
