More and more hospitals are using those short stay surgical units for small procedures. Insurance companies also encourage this due to how it keeps costs down for them. Modern surgery has advanced that many procedures have you home the same or next day. 5 back surgeries and 3 of them I went home the same day.
The only reason this place is now being investigated is because a famous person died under their care. If this were anyone else it wouldn't be an issue.
