That mess today turned to rain an hour later after taking that photo and then it got up to 54º. Should be warm all week they said, but who could believe them at this point?

0 Still raining- but the last 3 days there has been a yellow blob in the sky blinding us all as we battle with force 8-10 gales and rain showers

0 Well........it seems that the 8 -20 inches of white shit predicted for my neck of the woods somehow turned into SHIT NOTHING!
Not that I'm complaining about the lack of snow mind you. BUT........I'm pretty sick and tired of the constant yammering about the coming "snowmageddon" and yet again it doesn't materialize. The folks that come up with these predictions need to realize that eventually folks will blow them off every time and when they DO get it right there's the potential for great harm to people who have become accustomed to them being dead wrong. TWC now names all winter storms and that might be a good idea for keeping track of them but it brings an air of importance to storms that are nothing more than normal weather events. It doesn't help at all that the media now tries to sensationalize every little snow event. Maybe a better plan would be to give all storms a designation......e.g. WS-1-14, WS-2-14, WS-3-14 etc and reserve the name for bona-fide nasty ones. So then maybe the first 8 or 9 are just WS-whatever and #10 is also known as Ambrose. This would put emphasis on the nasty ones and DE-emphasize the "meh...whatever" ones.

0 Well I DID say "my neck of the woods".
I looked at the traffic cam just a bit from your house at Washington St. Looks like you're getting some pretty heavy snow.

0 Yep. Like I said, blizzard conditions. Visibility is shit and it's piling up fast.

0 It was clear here today, but we never really got out of the single digits. It's still clear as the sun goes down, I think we are in for a hell of a cold night.....again.
