Dylan, another question about these settings.

Apparently Facebook is in cooperation with Ebay and Amazon because when I 'go shopping' on either of those sites, I'm seeing targeted ads on Facebook asking, literally asking "are you still interested?" with a photo of the item. This infuriates me.

I have my settings exactly as you have them (full on private was a pain in the ass) and TBH, it's pretty liberal. Almost like the default settings. Apparently Facebook does not follow the "do not track" rules.

Any way to block facebook cookies on other sites I visit like that without constantly having my session time out and have to re-login there? This shit creeps me out.

One more thing. What's ironic is that Ghostery shows NO trackers at all on my actual logged in FB page.

I just put the setting to never accept third party cookies and I think that stuff is still getting through. Google keeps showing up after I delete it and I have not gone to google at all. Is it something so stupid as a "second party" cookie that needs it's own setting telling it not to?

I know I'm not using Safari because of all the 'built in' cookies. I can delete them and count to ten, open the list and they're all there again without having any site tabs open. very frustrating.

This isn't about them being in cahoots. This is purely Facebook reading the cookies belonging to other sites. Back to them being privacy stealing bitches.

And more frustration for you dedicated Facebook users on how the "Little Dictator" feels your newsfeed should be prioritized. Never mind that you bothered to set your preferences in your settings, they just don't matter. They are literally there to appease you into thinking you're actually in control of something.

And let's just leave this right here. Give it a read to the end before you say, "What's the big deal?"

Well, it is the Sun. And the UK.

The Sun is well known for flamboyant over the top stories. And the UK is practically blanketed with CCTV cameras.

But yes it is a concern, but at this point I don't see a way to go back. EVERYBODY has a drivers license photo in a db, or a ID photo of some kind. So you don't really need fb and their fuckery for this to be a concern.
The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

It's the Russian app that is 70% accurate that creeps me out. It's perfect for child molesters and stalkers.
