If there is mass looting and chaos I might take a ride down there and pick up some bargains.

0 Lol gunnen just wants a legal reason to shoot trashy people, I cant say its necessarily wrong he just wants to speed up the capital punishment process haha.
Twitch what do you mean by I need to recheck hurricane history for my area, Jackson floods pretty bad that not a question but my personal property has very good drainage. When Irene hit we had no flooding at my house or my surrounding neighbors, county line was a different story and alot of the roads around it. I could have swam in the middle of some of those roads.

0 The below, where you say Jersey is not known for hurricanes is what I refer to. Plenty have hit here.
I also didn't say for your area, I said for this area meaning NJ. Anthony Wrote:My town has issues with flooding but where my house is we dont flood luckily, I am however concerned with damage from wind and such. Jersey is not known to get hurricanes and to deal with crazy winds so especially with newer construction the wind classifications on houses are not very good.
I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head

0 Indeed, Anthony. And New Jersey strikes me as having an abhorrent gov't and legal system, not to mention a population of people who gladly support it and vote like retards. Also, Jersey shore, which is more than enough reason on it's own. Seeing these things go up in chaos just gives me schadenfreude for some reason.
I feel sorry for you guys, but if much of the North East gets leveled..... I hope to see some posts from you guys in a few hours.

0 I plan to try to take some video when the eye comes through.
Yeah jersey has had its share of storms and hurricanes but I meant in terms of construction the minimal level of protection is usually used they dont take the type of care they would in say a Florida home.

0 I know this is a political post, and all, but if this thing really does what it is predicted, Obama is toast. This is about to be the political gift that just keeps giving.
And too, what is a nice guy like him supposed to do? Should he keep campaigning, in order to shore up states that are slipping from his grasp, or should he be presidential and do his job by staying in DC? He's screwed almost any way he looks at it. LOL!

0 I'm not exactly giving a shit about politics right now. I'm just waiting for this slow bitch to pass and get it over with. I still have electricity which is a good surprise. The big tree is still standing and we've not a lick of water in the basement yet. I don't think we're going to get the rain that is going on inland due to the clashing fronts. We're going to get flooding and wind more I think. A few small bursts of heavy rain, but nothing like what's been going on inland.
I see my friend in Bristol is having a big snow event. Good. I hope the stupid fuck doesn't even have a shovel.

0 I was slated to run a load of frozen product to Halls in S. Plainfield as was my partner in trucking crime Cheryl but both our loads cancelled. Gee I wonder why?
Anyway, instead they gave her a trip to go pick up eggs in Ephrata, PA and I'm supposed to head back in this afternoon at 3 PM then run a load down to York for a 7 PM delivery then beat feet back. According to dispatch, they don't want any of us out running in the middle of the night and they're not sure if we will be doing anything at all tomorrow. They are trying to get all of what we would have been delivering tomorrow done this afternoon/evening. We're getting the rain starting here and the wind is picking up. This oughtta get good in the next few hours.

0 We just went out for a last ditch effort for a generator. Sears promised to be open but alas, they got smart and are not. So, we had breakfast at the diner and then took a ride down to the bay before turning into our street to go home. Nothing significant really in regard to waves. It was worse during Irene so far. Lots of wind and the van shakes when driving and a gust hits, but nothing alarming yet.
Waiting for the hit is torture.

0 For anyone interested in following the storm, here's a link for the NOAA National Hurricane Center.
