Took the overlander (I really need to think of a better name for this thing) up onto a hill so I could check out it's 4x4 switching. First time I've played with one of these lame push button electronic switch things. While messing around we found a jackal. Kinda surprising....in the middle of a city.

Just call it a truck.

I had ONE truck with those push button 4x4 things and I hated it. Yeah, much more convenient because you don't have to get out in horrible weather and lock the wheels, but I just never trusted it. I also didn't have the stick for the front differential to choose between gears, all buttons. High or low, didn't like that. On the stick I think I have the high/low and a third super low and couple that with the 6 speed transmission, I got powerful 4x4 and total control.
There was no override system should the electronics go out. After talking with other 4x4 enthusiasts it was confirmed I made the right choice spec'ing out my truck. I didn't like that I had to roll backward 10 feet to unlock them too.

Have fun with your new toy! So you got the "lame" 4x4 - it still works as intended and only if you are as picky as me it shouldn't bother you and it does work. My truck is way too big for what you got that thing for. Too long a wheel base for off roading. Mine is more for work/hauling.

The original owner installed front lockers, the second owner took them out, but he gave them to me. If I find the buttons too annoying and unreliable I'll put them back. But not being allowed out of the vehicle in Kruger does mean I won't be able to switch to 4x4 when I get off the tar.

About the only things we ever see round here that are nearly as big as yours are Ford F50s...and I can probably count on 1 hand the amount I've seen. As is this thing fills a lane on the highway. Its going to be a long time before I take it to a mall and try to park it...if ever.

The F-150 is as big as my truck. I just have an extended cab is all and the suspension is beefed up out of the box. In fact, my truck being one of the first off the line that year is 3 inches higher than all the others after due to a law implemented here that your bumpers cannot exceed 15 inches from ground to bottom of the bumper. I think that's NJ only though.

Covers on the undercarriage for the transmission, oil pan and other things came as part of a package for off-roading I had added in gratis (I made a great deal on this truck). I should have gotten the winch though. That is very handy to have.

Just got this new app called Yard Sale. Haven't turned it on yet. Looks pretty cool if you're into this kind of stuff. I've found some really nice things at yard sales on occasion. I never go out specifically looking for them, but will pop in if I see something interesting on a drive by. This app isn't exactly a link to local yard sales, but more like a craigslist kind of thing. The craigslist app sucks, BTW.

Anyway, this is the website link and sadly it does not have a lot of info there.

I don't know if there is an Android app, you guys will have to look it up. Check the website I linked above, maybe it has one. I know there is a place to add your email to get notified when your device is added.

Just watch your notifications. Make sure you don't set it to alert you with every sale in your area because it will kill battery life. - a note from the user reviews in the iTunes store.
