I think I paid like 20 bucks many years ago for mine. I'll have to find out how much they cost when I renew mine in 2016.

0 OMG The fees in NY State have gone up dramatically! What cost me $5 is now over $80
![]() This is the NYS first time permit requirements. It's a little different than Jersey with the learner's permit as you are required to have a licensed driver with you at all times while learning. The "required course" you have to take is merely a 3 hour class given at any driving school. I don't know the fees anymore for that. Links to info are highlighted by an underline on these two links: NYS Driver License - first time NYS Fee Schedule - first time fees, not renewal fees Here's the Jersey Nonsense - they give the fee schedule on the second link which has a bunch more info to click on the side bar for info on the tests. The fees here are more reasonable than in NY it seems but they hit you on your license. Since I have a motorcycle endorsement, I pay $42 to renew mine where Matt who does not pays only $24 There's also a probationary period for first time drivers here vs. NY where you just get your license and go. NJ License requirements - 17 - 21 year olds NJ Fee Schedule - includes renewals ![]()

0 I just renewed my license about 6 months ago, I got the enhanced so I can get back home from Canada. If I remember right it cost me just over $100.
I got my motorcycle license back in about 1981 and have no idea what it involved.

0 What is "enhanced" so you can get back from Canada?
I think on the site for NYS it says it's only $24 or something like that to renew. I got my MC endorsement here. It was dirt cheap in '96. Before then I always rode without the endorsement ![]() ![]()

0 Enhanced is to go to and from Canada without the need for a passport. I only had to show them proof of birth, marriage, residence, my current gas bill, a bank statement, my cats full name, trace an outline of my cock on a piece of construction paper, give finger prints, a retina scan, and a rectal probe.

0 Wasn't there the good ol' days when you didn't all that shit just to go to Canada?

0 I thought right after 9-11 they made it so we need passports to out of country everywhere? I know I didn't need one to go to the Caribbean, just my license / ID and a birth certificate showing I was born here.
