I'm about ready to pack this thing up and trade it for something else. It's a giant gyp.

0 Don't they have a user forum on the xbox live site? I'm in the queue for live chat now. I could swear they said something about user forums. I'll be damned if I can find them. I got three choices, live chat with an "ambassador" (which is a stupid user anyway) and live chat with MS ripoff support tech or call them. All the MS support has a half hour wait.

0 NM I found them. Stupid fucking set up too. NOTHING is normal there! Ugh. I hate those 'fancy' forums where nothing is out there to actually see for easy surfing.

0 Xbox support sucks gorilla balls, I could not get my live account back when I lost password because I couldn't provide enough info. I gave them all my addresses emails and credit cards ever on the account. I guess me being me wasn't enough.

0 Well, basically we're stuck. Here's the conversation:
You are now chatting with 'Conor'. Matt: hello conor Conor: Hello, thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support. My name is Conor. Please give me a moment to review your question. Matt: just so you know, this is not Matt but his wife Joan Conor: No problem Joan. Apologies if you entered a description, due to some bugs with chat at the moment it hasn't come through. How can I help you though? Matt: we're seriously considering packing this thing up and trading it in for a Wii. Matt: we feel ripped off. Matt: why on earth do i need to pay $60 a year to stream stuff off the internet, like Netflix? I already have a netflix account Matt: and FiOS! I pay thru the nose for FiOS and I have to pay to use that?! Matt: and the games - i waited a year for the xbox kinect feature only to find there are a handful of games that are all Kiddie oriented or dance oriented. bah Conor: Well I'm very sorry to hear that Joan, I really am. As you can imagine though, as with all games consoles that are released, it is expected that there will be a limited number of titles available at launch, since developers must be familiar with the hardware before they can develop games with it. Matt: explain the huge fee to stream what we already pay for. Conor: Well the Xbox Live gold subscription isn't just for streaming movies. It grants you access to all features of Xbox Live, such as online gameplay, video chat with friends, special discounts on downloadable content, etc. Matt: And i'm not buying the answer for the games. When xbox first came out, as with all the other consoles, there were a ton of games Matt: We are not into that crap. I don't give a whit to chat on my tv with friends. we wanted to use it to stream netflix. Matt: online gameplay? leave that for the 12 year olds Matt: you - MS rather - offers no flexibility for everyone Conor: Well that is your decision Joan, but that is the service we're offering, and it is a voluntary service that we are not forcing you to buy in to. Matt: yeah. well I got a feeling Matt's going to feel the same and pack that thing up and return it. Matt: All those hidden fees add up and are not worth the trouble Conor: Well I respect your opinion Joan, and I am sorry that you feel that way. Do you have any other questions I might be able to answer for you though? Matt: no. i just wasted 40 minutes of my life really. you offered no solution other than to tell me i'm stuck paying if i want to stream netflix as you lumped it in with all the other features. Matt: thanks

0 Sucks
I stream my netflix through my BluRay player. I didn't pay much for it, like $125ish, and it is a 3D player. Even though I don't own a 3D TV! (probably won't for YEARS either.) Dumped the $65 a month from Comcast and pay $9 for netflix. My son has a PS3, and I know he streams netflix through it, but I don't think he pays anything. He is every bit cost conscious (cheap) as me.

0 Micro$oft is the only one I know of to charge to stream because you got all those other features. Bullshit on the features. ALL those other features are FREE with every other console, including discounts of whatever. There are no discounts with M$ - it's all a crock of shit.

0 Yeah. I wouldn't put Wii before PS3. It all depends on the sorts of games you want. The best games for the types I play (Shooting, Racing, and RPGs) are all on the PS3, so I'd buy that before a Wii. However... my GF has a Wii, so meh. A lot of the games for Wii can be pretty "Family" or "Kid" oriented too. That being said, one really cool thing about the Wii is that you can buy "Classic Games" for it, right on it. You're basically downloading ROMs of NES, SNES, etc... games onto the Wii legally. I don't bother though, Vimm's has all of those and more

0 That's it - we're packing it up and sending it back and trading to a Playstation 3 Move.
Main reason - general principle of being ripped off. Other reasons: Privacy issues, amount of games available and game types. Many PS3 games can be compatible with Move and are not "move only" games. There are a few Move only specific games but way more are compatible. Sony has the Eye as well - which for only $33 I can add to the PS3 Move system. Gee - seems like it's even more affordable and I can stream Netflix FREE if I want. No subscription required. Matt's inside wiping out all the information on the game console now and I'll pack it up and return it to Wally World (where mom got it) tomorrow while we're out helping her with her wifi connection and Kindle Fire set up. http://youtu.be/8cvBKgn7hd8?hd=1
