So, I'm pretty much out of it for the winter, I will not be freezing my ass off to do any more to this thing while it is cold out. There is a slow leak in the front tire that I am getting fixed and I have a kit to line the gas tank, but it needs to be warm to use the kit. So here it sits.

So, I get it out of the barn, tighten up the front wheel and get it started. I ride it down the driveway and back to the garage and notice this. Freaking antifreeze leaking!! I wiped it up and let it run for like half an hour, the took it for about a 10 mile ride. I never saw it again, go figure.

Angus was just as puzzled as I was.

I spiffed up my magic marker Honda on the front.

I hammered out a neato engine guard out of an old bike rack for a car. Then scrapped that Idea. I wanted to put highway pegs on it and it just wasn't panning out as I had planned.

So I beat this old scrap metal into shape and bolted it on the bike.

I'm riding it now, but it still needs another carb cleaning and the gas tank coated and the carbs synced, I have all the tubing and stuff to make a gauge to sync the carbs, that will be my next project to work on.

Maybe the gunk floating around in that old radiator plugged up the holes? I've seen mysterious leaks disappear like that on some of the shit buckets my ex used to get us for transportation.

I was thinking about flushing the radiator, but that might be asking for trouble. I may have to carry some bar leak or solder seal or something with me.
Today I picked up a bicycle bottle cage mount for the handlebars, I'm gonna stick that tin marlboro bottle in it so I can have a drink while I ride.

Got any pics Rhubarb?

I might be catching a bus back home this summer if it breaks down somewhere during the trip.
I may need to put the passenger seat back on it so I have room to strap down my tents and sleeping bag and stuff, although I don't really like the way it looks with the extra seat on it. Also there is no room for truck stop hookers the way it is now.

Get yourself a set of Tbags. We had a set for my ex's Harley and we could fit a week's worth of clothes and accessories in there with room to spare on the back seat for me. You could also turn the thing around and let it sit on the seat and use that to lean against while driving. They claim waterproof but I lined it with a big plastic bag anyway.

My one Tbag held more than those hard cases you have on there now.

This is the one we had: Original

That looks pretty good, but I have that trunk in place and kinda need that, I would need a backrest to attach that T-bagGiggle and a bag and a backrest would be worth more than the bike is. Those hard bags are kinda small, but I will pack really light, like bicycle light. Also I'm gonna pick up one of these to help out. http://www.jcwhitney.com/dowco-rally-pac...36;{shopId}

Except now looking at it, after I just mounted the water bottle cage mount, I don't know if the water bottle would clear the bag when the bars are turned.
Meh....I guess I'll be pretty much going in straight lines anyway.Bikers

I did some playing around today, it was only like 30 degrees out so it kinda sucked till the sun warmed things up a bit.
I re-mounted my bottle cage.
This will now clear a tank bag. Actually...a guy on CL just about 5 miles up the road has two tank bags for sale for $20. I'm gonna run about 6:30 and have a look. If I can use one or both of them I'm gonna grab them. The one I want to buy new is gonna be at least $36 if I can hit a free shipping deal somewhere. So, this will be a bargain, and hell, the second one might come in handy.

I should be doing the carbs and tank, but it's still just too damn cold. If I can't get the carbs cleaned out the old fashioned way with spray cans of cleaner and an air compressor I might have to spring for the ultrasonic cleaner.
