Going to bring my rig to the hitch place Friday afternoon and let them do their thing with it. The guy laughed when I described that I need a locking pin on the receiver but i can unpin the cradle where the bikes sit from the thing farther up.

I gotta get you those pics as soon as Matt gets in at a decent time to help me hold it all in place for a photo. It's too wobbly for me to do it alone.

62.5 plus miles today, did a charity ride. It looked like rain but held off for the day, just a few misty drops here and there. I raised $525.00 and it was a good day.
I rode my old steel frame touring bike with the fenders and wider tires with tread and stuff, just in case I spent 4-5 hours out there in the rain.

That's a lot of miles! I'm so not ready for that kind of stuff yet.

We were going to go to a new park tomorrow but the truck HAS to get that tie rod fixed and Matt scheduled another job for tomorrow too. He's going to be working under the lights in the driveway it seems.

Maybe I'll go out myself Monday if he gets it fixed or I'm stuck with the same boring ride for now.

I just wont' ride the roads here. It's all highway riding and I am not comfortable on a congested 50 MPH road. Plus the heat off the road is brutal!

Got up nice and early today and managed to get out early enough for a nice ride before the heat kicked in.

Did 6.49 miles. Went all the way down to the beach and decided that i'm going to hit the yellow and red trail at the top of the road and add some more in. Got me an extra mile and a half. I could have added more if I went to the right instead of the left but you can't ride the yellow loop on the right side. It's all swamp and boardwalk and it's narrow - 24" narrow. So, the shorter route I was able to ride 90% of instead of the other way around.

Tight trails!

Got me a neat little gadget on the phone too - tells me all kinds of cool things I did on the bike. Somehow it didn't feel like I stopped for that much time though. Honestly, I think I stopped way less.

Stopped for:
Cut two long bits of greenbriar off the trail (less than a min)
Stopped for five minutes at the end by the bay (the water is WARM)
Stopped for one minute when I took a wrong turn and hit a dead end. (Needed a drink)
Stopped to call Matt to ask him if I actually took the right path. (3 minute conversation)

I'm going to carefully time stops on a test run to check for accuracy.

Cool, how's that thing on the phone work, from a GPS??
Also that trail looks pretty nice, you know most places won't let you ride a bike on their trails. We have a county park just up the road that they let mountain bikes have the run of, and that is almost unheard of.

Works off GPS. I have two of them. Bike Brain from that site with the hub and one called Cyclemeter - which is the one you see.
I'm going to look for something that doesnt' use my phone though. It takes a bit of battery and if I'm riding in another county, forget it. I don't want to be without a phone.

There's another app called Oh Ranger that lists a ton of parks and what activites they allow and gives you a TON of info about the park.
You need a smart phone. Biggrin

PM me the area you are in and i'll pull up all the parks in your area that allow bikes. You may be surprised how many let you.

Not all trails are set up for biking here. This place is a wildlife sanctuary so I have to be respectful of the wetland areas and not go bushwacking it off the trails.

Monday night I rode with a couple people from they gym, about 23 miles and an ice cream stop.Biggrin

Oh yeah, Monday morning I rode into my aerobics class at 5:30am, then went for breakfast.

On Wednesday we went down to the pine creek trail in Pa and rode maybe 20 miles. I pulled BOB with a cooler and a small propane grill, we stopped and cooked lunch, had some cold drinks, fed a squirrel, saw an eagle, and then rode back to the truck, went to our B&B, got tipsy, had hot stone massages, hot tubbed, etc, etc, etc....Loungelizard
