Just because we need this thread.

Today I did some charity ride, 32 miles, then we did like another 15 just for fun afterwards. During the charity ride there was one guy who was flying, and a group of three of us kinda chasing. We stopped for water and never saw that lone rider again, the three of us were the next group back to the start.
Then two of us and the lone rider went out for another 15 miles, we averaged about 18.5 mph for the mornings festivities. A good time was had by all.Biggrin

Our last ride was last week. 11.97 miles at a leisurely pace. About an hour ride time, hour stopping and enjoy the woods time.
Slowest speed was 9 mph and fastest was 23 mph.

Ride to the ice cream parlor for a cone last night. Too crappy to ride this weekend.

I got a nice app for tracking my miles, calories burned and my slowest/fastest speed.

I stuck this thread, Twist.

I may go out for a few miles today. The rain has to stop first. We had a crap weekend and sat in front of the boob tube like lumps.

I also ordered that rack - finally! Got it off Amazon for $117 and spent another $20 on a locking pin. I didn't have the $$ to spend on the threaded pin but Swagman also has a non-threaded locking pin they offer for this model so I took that one. If it rattles too much, I will just have to spend the money.
I also go the model made for the two inch receive instead of the one requiring a sleeve. That too should help with the rattling as it will fit more snugly.

The bike shop up the road has the same carrier and he wants $180 for it. Screw that! I got it and a pin cheaper.
I'm waiting on my el-cheapo tool kit to come from Ebay. Hopefully it's not crap. I want it more for the case anyway but I can replace the multi tool easily enough.

I rode with a group from the gym tonight after work, there was 6 of us, we did like 16 miles.
Lots of fun in a group when you can draft on each other.
They also shamed me into using my clip-on shoes and pedals, and I didn't even fall down.Biggrin

I think we're going to have to break down and get helmets. Some of the parks here won't let you bike in them without one. Maybe I can just let it hang off my waist Tongue Helmets hurt my neck, and it hurts a lot. Metal implants and damage to soft tissue and nerves are the reason.

I'm hoping my rack comes today. I want to start trying other trails.

We are thinking of looking for a group to ride with but around here, it's not so easy to find one. We're far from ready for what you do Twist, we just want a casual group who are not afraid to get a little dirty in the woods but not so fanatical. We need to build up to that.
I found a SITE that looks interesting to find riding partners but I hesitate to join for us. It looks more like a dating site and I'm afraid we'll hook up with some weirdos who think we want to swing! If you look at the 'samples' of new registrations, you'll see what I mean.

I've no clue how it's set up. All you get to preview is what I linked you to on that home page.
Most dating sites are set up that way.
I don't trust Craigslist for this for some odd reason. It's probably got the same chance of snagging weirdos.

What I found for my area in regard to bike clubs didn't thrill me. CLICK ME <-- see what you think. They just seem too regulated for me.
