Well, this demonstrates two things:

- People are becoming more terrible.

- The Dollar is really falling.

People are not any more terrible than they already are. This shit, around here anyway, is petty thugs, KIDS under 20 mostly. Bored, bad parenting from the start and some pill-heads mixed in. Gone are the days of your normal junkie who looks for crack or heroin, today's junkies are pill-heads around here. I don't understand why, I've been high on oxy, percoset etc from surgeries and it sucks. Not a good head at all. I avoided them at all costs.

You gotta see some of the reactions on the Patch site I read (and needle the nut cases). These people can't make up their mind if they want to sympathize with the thugs or give them a good slap on the wrist.

There have been cases around here of them stealing man hole covers, sewer grates, and prying brass plaques off of monuments in the cemeteries.

Man hole covers are a major problem
1. It is causing really nasty traffic accidents with bikers, and car owners alike.
2. As soon as the council replace one, it goes again.

Sylv' husband is the treasurer for their church and a part of the committee for the building work on the church refurbishment. Twice now they have had to replace the lead work on the guttering and only just this week they have got permission to use man made flushings to stop the thefts.

Lead is worth more than gold at the moment.

Lead has been valuable for quite some time now.

They're stealing sewer grates and manhole covers here too. I guess petty thieves are the same everywhere!

It is 'Mothering Sunday' here today (not Mothers Day)

This means we are half way through Lent and all the servants, hired hands and milkmaids were given the day off and with a cake would return home to visit their mothers.

Philip bought me a 'Katie' house plant (which is bright red) I put seeds in pots in the shed and took my bike out for petrol and an hour trip.
Saw my mother and gave her strawberries and cream (she has trouble eating things like cake now) and the Narcissi grown by Christine's Chestnut tree.

Most of the piggies went out except the old man and Stratos and Cooper who made it quite clear they needed a day off.
Veyron has taken a chunk out of my middle finger, right on the joint, as I was giving them all supper. He got into Bertie Brickhouse hutch uninvited and I needed to separate them. At least Bertie is unharmed.
Now I think I'm the one who needs the Vet!

We went to Home Depot to price out roofing shingles,decking materials and a kitchen sink. Goddam shit is expensive! 25 year el-cheapo tiles cost $29.99 a bundle.

decking is $5.27 per 10' lengths. another ripoff IMO.

Have to wait for the Lumber Manager to call tomorrow after he runs the measurements through the decking program to price out the deck. What happened to the days when men would do these things in their heads? My ex would know exactly how much was needed without using a computer program and he figured it all out in his head.

I went into HD a few years ago, I wanted a heater.
I asked if they had any, they said no. I asked if they could get me one. They said they don't carry them.
I said that I can go on the HD web site and have one delivered to my back door. They said they couldn't get me one. So I went down the road and bought one at the tractor supply store.
