0 Looks like you won't have to cut the grass today!!
Hey, My Mom is here this week, so I might not be around a bunch. But I will check in when I can.

0 I should put this in the home improvement thread, but some day I'm gonna put a switched outlet in my kitchen, with the switch in my bedroom. That way as soon as I hit the alarm clock or wake up on my own I can flip the switch and have my coffee brewing, there will be a cup ready by the time I get down stairs. This should really confuse who ever owns this house next.
I know, I know, just buy a timer, right? But I don't always get up on a set schedule and don't always know what time I'm gonna get up when I go to bed.

But Twist' there is such a thing! Hubby picked one up only last week where from I don't know. Got home last night and press a button and the coffee machine started before I'd even finished getting the Fiat in the drive. The light was set on the display cabinet so we had light as we opened the front door and the TV was on as we climbed the stairs (actually someone forgot to turn it off). There are a set of 4 plugs which can be remotely controlled. That's ok so long as the remote is where you want it-by your bed in the morning. Have a good day at work.

0 Hmmmmm....but that doesn't involve wires, swearing, drilling holes, sweating, swearing, crawling around in the attic, many trips to the hardware store, pulling wires through the basement swearing, hundreds of dollars, swearing, buying new tools, swearing, looking for my hole saw, swearing, cutting a water pipe to the bathroom sink, swearing, cuts, scrapes, swearing, a trip to the ER, swearing, tetnus shots, swearing.....
That would just take all the fun out of it. Plus there would be no mystery switch for the next owners.

0 You're just looking for an excuse to buy new tools.
I kind of like your idea better than Trudi's too. I KNOW all about those mystery switches. I have such a one in my hallway. My friend Bobby who is an electrician cannot figure out where it goes either. We can't by law take out the switch and bury the wires either, which sucks so we're stuck with a mystery switch. Drives us batshit for the last ten years too. I don't think there is a day that goes by where one of us doesn't say, "I wish I knew where this stupid switch went." Yeah, make the mystery switch. You'll be paying it forward for me.

We left a sliding door at our 'rabbit-hutch', weighed a ton and Mark and his father fixed it to the supporting wall. If the new owners wanted to take it down they would have to also remove the supporting wall. |
