I don't know about in your state but here if you adopt a pet from the county shelters, you are obligated to take care of it. You are not allowed to abandon it, keep it outside, neglect it's medical needs or a litany of other things. Often they require a check. Private agencies are tougher. I'd report her to the shelter she adopted him from so they can keep her away from anymore animals.

Fuck it Havoc, he came to you for a reason.

Maybe 10 years ago I had a German Shepard show up one afternoon, he ate up all the cat food and I tried to chase him away. He sat on my porch and barked when someone walked by the house like he was protecting me, I tried to chase him away again. I ended up calling animal control and the came and got him......I still regret that.Sad

That makes me sad. I hope his family found him, I hate to think of the alternative.

I actually was thinking I would like a shepard, but I guess this pint sized Rottie will have to do, He loves to bark at people outside the gate, He reacts to noise with an ear shattering bark, He sits by me constantly, won't sleep anywhere but with me , does a little dance when I come from work, and would eat himself sick if I let him.

What could be better than a dog that thinks you're it and nothing else in the world matters?

Twist, I didn't always pay attention to animals like I do today, I have chased away dogs that needed and wanted help in the past, it was just what life was then, it's different now.

You know Havoc, I bet he's not taking to your wife as easily because the woman that he ran away from probably yelled at him all the time, never talking nice to him. I also will bet he didn't get fed on a regular basis, she probably held back dinner when he was "bad".

You should have your wife do the feeding with him - let him associate her with good things like food.

she feeds in the moring ,I feed in the evening, it's just the way our hours work out.

He is warming up to her when I'm not home, but it all ends when I come thru the door.

We must have matured in the same way Havoc, I can't even hunt any more.

Well, I won't say can't, but I won't. If I were hungry, I'd kill it and grill it, but I have not been that hungry in awhile.

New collar, looks like you gave him a bath and damn if he doesn't look like he has a bandit's mask on! He looks content.
