Why do animals have to get deathly ill this time of year?

Moms cat is on it's death bed. Stupid vet should never have let that cat go home with her. 4 year old cat with acute kidney failure and they give her antibiotics and saline to keep her hydrated giving mom the false sense that this cat can come back from this.

now she's snowed in and the cat needs to be put to sleep and she can't get out to bring her to a vet. Hopefully today she can. She's livid with the vet and I think I'm more pissed.

Goliath started yesterday on us. I didn't see what happened but Matt was petting him and he started yelping like he got hit by a car. His left leg went weird and he shook like mad for about an hour after.

It sounds like when my old dog Boots started passing tiny clots through her heart. She would yelp like that and then go into some odd state of disorientation for a few minutes and then be normal again.

Goliath did this when we couldn't get out yet too.

Don't they know they're supposed to wait so we can do the right thing for them?

aww sometimes it seems that the air pressure and cold weather just saps the strength out of them... I don't understand it but they seem to pass and give birth in more bad weather than other times. we lost a kitten on christmas day that we had found that was otherwise recovering we had her "on the mend." doing well and suddenly.. croak. I was so disgusted. Sigh... I can't save the whole world but I try... poor little dolls.. they love the world but all the farm cats and drop offs seem to overwhelm our household.

The only reason we don't have as many as we use to is I threatened to shoot anybody that did it down town and it slowed down... people think cause you have one cat you must want 90.. sigh...

Exaclty. Nice to see someone has reading comprehension mastered.

Thanks Vizzy. Goliath seems fine now but if it happens again, I'm not going to let it continue like my ex did with Boots. It was my dog from when I was 12 - he had a harder time letting her go than I did.

Barb - yeah, I know what you mean. When I had the farm the drop offs were insane. I even had people calling me asking if I took in all strays. ALL - she actually said ALL. Asshole. NO, I don't take in anything unless YOU are going to pay the vet bills and get them spayed.

I do just fine finding strays and the unwanted on my own, thankyouverymuch.

Here's a bigger pair of balls for you.

Whoever this vet is (she won't tell me) that mom is using has the gall to close shop for the day because every regular appointment canceled. Are you fucking kidding?

Mom called several times and was under the impression that 1:00 is the time. She called before she leaves and there is a fucking recorded message that they closed shop due to canceled appointments! Now she's driving into Staten Island to her old vet (who she dumped because he forgot who stood by him for 30+ years when he first opened up) to have her poor, suffering cat put to sleep.

I need to know how a fucking vet can close shop knowing she had an animal under critical care who could possibly need to come in ASAP? how awful. I need the name so I can harass the bitch. This is supposed to be a vet specialist for cats only too. Yeah, nice job on the caring aspect.

Twitch, you already know about the challenge I'm facing with one of my dogs, He went to the vet yesterday, he has bad arthritis in his neck as well as some bullet fragments from before I rescued him, He is still down but at least he now has pain meds, I called last thursday and asked for a few pain pills to get him comfortable enough to move and go see the vet then, I was refused (I'm sure it was because they were going to close on friday through monday for christmas) anyway this dumb ass vet had the audacity to tell me that Buddy should have been on pain meds sooner, I told that idiot that I tried and was denied by him I also told him to get all of my animals files ready for pick up, I will be finding a different vet!

Christ, I don't blame you. Your poor dog. Sometimes I wonder why some of these people go into veterinary practice to begin with.

Will they give you the files? Here they won't. They have to be transferred from vet to vet.

Doesn't your equine vet take care of the small animals for you? If not, what about a recommendation from him/her to a small animal vet? Is it hard to find a good vet by you too? I know it is here. Too much CYA and not enough care for the animal.

I will sue in small claims for the files if I'm refused, My money generated them I own them and I want them. I can transfer them myself without letting this douche know where.

I wanted to hit him, If my wife hadn't gave me the look I might have.

Vets are hard to come by here, there was a very good one in this office but she left and opened a practice in texas, I'm betting it was because this ass didn't like her actually taking care of the animals and having a heart for the owners.

I'm still pissed, I can't help it.
