0 Crumbs all that seems like a life time ago.
No1 son is signed off by the hospital now, this time last year he was home in a wheelchair I've put the test off this year after having to re-complete my CBT, on a 500 because I'm a 'mature student' me mature! Oh, No1 son says because I'm suppose to be sensible 'cos I'm over 25. Though I'll have to get my act together next Spring before my Theory test expires! I do fancy the Honda Diversion No1 is looking at........I could ride that if I passed. 0 Different countries, different rules.
For that matter here in the US licensing is different state by state. Now in Pennsylvania for motorcycle you can test on a 90cc bike but ride away on a 1600cc cruiser or 1200cc crotch rocket! A class M endorsement covers all bikes regardless of what you test on. To test it just has to be a street legal bike which is currently registered, insured and inspected.

0 You're correct vtx. When my ex and I were getting out NJ M classifications they did the tests in the DMV parking lot. I had a Honda 400 for my test because it was easier to handle than my Harley (which also hadn't come in from the dealer yet). Little did I know that my little 883 was much more balanced and nimbler than that old Honda!
My ex is the only person to take the test and pass on the first try with his Softtail Custom. The test is NOT designed to work with a Harley (on purpose to boot) and the instructor told him he might want to come back another day and take the test on a smaller bike. He insisted on proceeding and he passed with 100 points.
