My road is fucked up too. It's like of a little residential end part of the road, no speed is posted so it is 55mph, then you come out on rt 63 the state highway and the posted speed is 45mph.

That's backward! Isn't all state highways in NY 55 unless they allow you to go 65? I learned to drive in NY and the non posted speed limit is 30. County and state roads could be as high as 55 but most are 50 and in more congested areas of those roads it's 35. Maybe the kids swapped out the signs?

Nope...the other side road has like a 35mph limit on it as it comes up to the state road.
Hell, we don't even have a stop ahead sign.
A few years back there was an accident in the middle of the night, car full of kids ran the stop sign got nailed by a truck. One of them was killed. You know, kids, music too loud, not paying attention, etc, etc, etc....nobody ever even mentioned the fact that maybe they didn't know a stop was coming up because there is no damn sign to tell them, especially in the dark.
55mph, dark, not used to the road, up to a stop sign, gee do the math.

I'm glad I grew up in the city and took the bus and subway everywhere. Only a few kids had cars and it was usually the ones who lived on the south end of Staten Island that had them. All they did was drive around uselessly. They never went anywhere and the cars were only for making out in. I was busy having fun. Yeah, sex is fun but since I wasn't a slut, and I wasn't into seeing how fast I can get an STD or preggers, I chose concerts in the city, ball games and other things instead. LOL My main goal was to get out of the house by the time I was 18 and that I did. Was out before graduation too.

I left when I was 18, and never had to live with anyone since, thankyouverymuch.
Oh, except those 53 other guys I lived with during basic training.

Pennsylvania has statute speed limits of 25 in cities and suburban/rural residential areas, 45 on major roads in semi rural, 55 on rural and 65 on interstate and limited access highways. All of these are conditional to being otherwise posted.

Here in the boonies for teens you gotta have a car or friends with cars to get just about ANYwhere. Public transportation? What's that? No such thing as a bus, rail or taxi. The nearest stop for a bus is at least 18 miles away. The nearest train station is in Harrisburg which is 40 miles from here. Hell Greyhound and Trailways don't even cruise through this area!

Usually kids start learning to drive at 14 by running the farm truck across the fields or between the fields and barn. Motorcycle/ATV riding starts between 8 and 12 yrs old.

Maryland by far, has the worst drivers I've ever encountered. People make sudden turns across 4 lanes of traffic more often there than anywhere I've seen. It's a wonder that place isn't on the news for fucked up accidents daily! I'm always nervous driving through Md.

Jersey is very lax in it's public transportation system too. Even in the cities and when the idiot Corzine was in office, he said we had one of the best public transportation systems in the world! Hysterical
If one bus/rail line from Bayville to Newark and one from west to east (the PATH train) then into NY Penn station is the best in the world I want what he's smoking. It's cheaper to drive your car in and park if you're going to the city. Top it off, the LAST bus or train home from the city is at 1:30 AM. So if you there to party and used public transportation for the safety of not driving drunk, your partying is going to be cut short.

Heee hee DC and Baltimore are a true challenge 6 lane traffic one way with people moving across all six lanes from seperate lanes trying to occupy the same space at the same challenge I love it.. gets the blood pumping in the morning. better than a coffee high.
