0 Ah. Tour DeFrance. Very athletic racing there Twist.
Black Sun, I like F1 and Moto GP too but there is a real lack of coverage here. Were it not for the excellent coverage contract NHRA has with ESPN it would be pretty much all NASCAR on TV here. Hell I love the shit out of offshore racing, unlimited hydroplanes and IHBA (drag on the water) but the coverage is woefully spotty for these too. Santa Pod Race Park is Britain's best drag strips and is an excellent facility. The Aussies are into it almost as much as we Americans are and ANDRA (Oz's drag association) fields some great racing.

0 I've always liked the motorcycles, supercross, superbikes, GP, Daytona, that sort of stuff.
I have not really kept up on any of that stuff since, crap, I think Eddie Lawson was racing superbike and Jeremy McGrath was riding Supercross. 0 Drag isn't without its OMG moments.
I was at the track for the one of Del Worsham's car exploding through the lights at Maple Grove. It's at 2:52 of the video. I was sitting at half-track (about 66o feet away) and felt the concussion of the blast. Imagine what Del felt! [yt]LKQgWaD89is[/yt] Amazingly, in all of these incidents that the drivers walked away with no more than minor injuries and in most of these no injuries at all! Although rare there are occasionally fatal incidents. This is of the final pass that Scott Kalitta made at Englishtown Raceway Park (the one near Twitchy) [yt]27F2WVyMWiI[/yt]

0 Well...........the fields are set and tomorrow final eliminations will be held at Maple Grove Raceway!!!!!!!
With the race 3 weeks later this year the track and air temps will be lower and should produce some really fast runs. Already track records have been broken in qualifying sessions and Matt Hagan's 3.011 second pass is faster than the national record of 3.022! All he has to do is make another pass within 1% of that before he is either eliminated or the race is over and it will be the new record. Tomorrow's conditions are supposed to be even better than those today so he should be able to back it up. I'll post vid and pics as soon as I can. 0 Ok......this should have been termed the "Oddball Nationals".
Despite the great conditions there were no record runs and strange upsets as well as odd mechanical problems were in abundance! For starters, all 3 John Force Racing funnycars wen out in round 1! Robert Hight went up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle, John's car wouldn't go into reverse after the burnout and Ashley had a nasty KABOOM! We were sitting at half track and felt the concussion when the engine launched! Yeah I know it's a bit shaky but I was free handing the camcorder. *Watch this one in full screen mode for the best view of the explosion* [yt]AcqGGUqq3eQ[/yt]

0 I used to watch NASCAR when it was NASCAR. When they stopped using "stock" cars I quit watching. They haven't raced "stock" cars in tens of years. Decades. It was truly a stock type of a car. If it was a rear wheel drive it had to be the same on the track. If it had two doors it had to be the same on the track. Now, almost everything on the track is front wheel drive although rear on the track and some are four door although two door on the track. They stopped being anything LIKE a stock car YEARS ago. I do watch NHRA when it’s on and I'm in front off my T.V. I'm no addict for sure but I try to keep up. I like to watch Ashley run. She IS her dad’s daughter. No denying that.
If I had known grandkids were this much fun, I would have had them first.
