I wanted to upgrade considering all the cooking we do and for that price it was an "OH HELL YEAH" decision. I'm hoping that this one treats us a well as the last one.
The old one will get cleaned and wrapped up then go to the basement for storage. I'm sure if I look around I can find that regulator for a reasonable price or adapt one that will work from a similar model. I wouldn't mind paying $50 for the part but $200 was just a bit much.
Future plans for the basement include finishing part of it and a full bar/lounge/man cave are the goal. I wanted to put in a 2 burner range top but even if I can't fully fix the oven the old range will do the job just fine.
The burners on the current one are 12,000 BTUs. The new one has a 15,000 and a 17,000 in the front. That will reduce cooking times by bringing things to a boil more quickly. With the continuous grate and center burner using larger stock pots will be better when we make feed an army sized batches of soup as we often do.
Pretty sure the even heat of the convection oven will reduce cooking time too so we'll have to adjust a little but quicker cooking times is a definite plus.
I'll post pics once it's in and we get to try it out.
