So, with all the baking I've been doing, Friday night I was forced to use the self clean feature of the oven because there were "puddles" of butter drippings on the bottom and it was making the house smell nasty.
When you use that self clean thing, it makes a lot of smoke in the house, so I had to open the back door and rig a fan to exhaust the smoke faster.
Apparently I didn't notice the screen wasn't shut.

Morning comes around and it's feeding time for the cats. I don't see Sofie anywhere. Fat little Sofie never misses a meal. I'm looking all over the house, under furniture and any other odd place I can think of.

Matt's outside smoking, so I pop my head out back and ask if he's seen her and that she's missing. As I said her name, I see a little foot pop out from under the hood over the basement window. Poor thing must have spent the entire night outside. How she got in there and not able to get out I've no clue. Matt had to snap a piece of the side (opposite where you can see here) off so she can squeeze out.

Poor thing was all puffed up and she made a bee-line into the house, straight for the food dish.
