My point was that there is supposed to be an international law at the 'demand' side, that makes the purchase/use of elephant/rino ivory a crime. It was signed and approved by even PRC, where most of the ivory carving is being done. Once the law took effect, the pile of illegal ivory impounded was tremendous. And it was supposed to have stopped almost all of the poaching. If there is no market for the goods, why poach in the first place?
I remember several years ago where the powers that be were blowing their horns, proclaiming poaching to be all but dried up. Where did they all go wrong?
