Also, I'm impressed that somebody knows who Mugabe is.
Anybody who doesn't know who that Marxist SOB is, needs to go there and just see how one man could take such a wonderful land, with so many natural resources, and totally trash it to the point where it may never recover again.
What that bastard has done to Zimbabwe is a classic example of just why Collectivism of any form, must be stamped out, and believers put in an asylum.
So what made them decide to "free" Iraq, as opposed to any of the countries going down the shitter in Africa, Zim included?
Think of 'expediency over principle' here. By trying to play good guy to the world, the 'so called' good guys are forced to make a decision as to which parts of the world are more important than others. After all, its impossible to clean up everything, because there are only so many resources available.
And the Middle East has something that everyone really needs: oil. You see countries, like people, really aren't equal in importance. Some are more equal than others. And Africa is at the bottom of the 'equality' scale. I'm sorry, but that's the reality of the world.
That's why, as a Real Liberal(in the sense you and most of the world views Liberals), I honestly believe we have no business sticking our nose into other's business, and forcing our ideals on to others. One cannot make the world safe for Liberty, just because we think we know what is better.
So we run around playing Big Brother, ladling out attention to whomever we think deserves attention, and allowing the rest to lay fallow. And in the end we accomplish little to nothing other than irritate everyone.
I'm sorry, but I'm not optimistic about things right now. And for years I have looked at Africa and seen nothing but a festering mess that is doing its level best to drag everyone else in to the shitter with them. And this is being done through the auspices of the UN. That is why we have no business remaining in that worthless organization.
I know I cannot even begin to make excuses for why the First World has bypassed Africa. But Africa is such a basket case. And naturally Collectivism, i.e. European Socialism, Marxism, Fascism, etc, etc, is the main political-economic system in the world, it gets to be the main political-economic system that is supposed to solve the woes of the world, Africa included.
And as long as Collectivism, along with its Keynesian sibling, continue to be looked upon as the way to force equality, nothing is going to change. There will be no equality, no Liberty, no prosperity, no positive future, because everything is predicated on "equality of result" instead of "equality of opportunity."
Have you considered immigrating to Australia, or New Zealand? Were I young again, that is where I would be heading. Or perhaps some out of the way spot, such as Ascension Island, or St. Helena. Because I see another loose repeat of the 1930s, with world war around the corner.
