Yea, Obama is a wholesome supporter of the legions marching in foreign lands. Recently, he signed an agreement with Karzai to extend US presence in the region for an indeterminate amount of time. How nice.
LKTraz made an excellent post, as the first few years of the Bush presidency were relatively decent as I recall them (and even then, I was politically aware and astute). The war in Iraq was stupid (so stupid, as I have found out personally), but both sides of the aisle signed off on that one, and currently have interests in the region to an extent. Bush, in his final term, when he didn't have too much of a reason to so do, did make those terrible decisions concerning bailouts, lending problems, etc, and so we suffer for that, and his compromise with the same assholes who are in office now. Despite this, I would say he and Obama are not on equal planes, and Obama is certainly a worse president than Bush ever was.
I know who Mugabe is, and I am sure the world loves that wholesome democratic decision they worked so hard to engender and provide for, because Zimbabwe is doing better now than it was when it was Rhodesia.....unfortunately, I haven't been following Africa lately. Usually, I find the place entertaining from a spectator's point of view.
The reason I combined names, is that I see a striking parallel in how both of them behave. Both of them have huge cult followings, both run their administrations like Banana Republics (for the US: Fast and Furious, EPA crackdowns, USDA agents taking down milk sellers, Federal bullying of the states, leveraging tax money against them, the love of the TSA, violation of privacy rights, etc, are all examples), both seem to not have a proper concept of money and how it works, and finally, contempt for vast segments of their populations.
