Several of our clients at work took to drugs because of this. My mother informed me only after my Great aunt died, her grandson took his own life because of an incident in his childhood

When T.E. Lawrence was captured by the Turks while leading the Arab Army in their revolt during World War One, he was raped by the prison commander in order to dehumanize and belittle Lawrence. This explains a lot about the way he lived in his cottage at Clouds Hill. His home is open to the public in the summer months (all of a 20 minute ride from home). He had one room totally dedicated to protecting his food and sleeping, where he locked himself in. The rest of the cottage is almost like a library with a day-bed in one library where he lay to read, by the only real window. The other windows were blocked out.
To me, this is a man wrestling with demons.
