OK I managed to get that dilemma mostly fixed.
It's still leaking a little but it can wait till I finish circulating the water for the day and getting it vacummed.
I still need two parts to finish my contraption and then I can take a pic for you all to see my brilliance.
The problem with the leak today on this plug/drain hole is that the fitting the plug screws into has freakin' notches in it on the inside and the washer on the plug, as usual, is too thin and flimsy so when you tighten it, it buckles up and starts to leak.
I'm going to open it again later, toss in a bead of silicone and let it dry overnight. Then plug it up again. The bead of silicone will make a nice washer and leak-proof the damn thing.
