Well, with my gigantic stereo speakers attached, we're enveloped in sound. The room is small though, so the 42 is the perfect size. When Matt gets home, I'll have him post a permanent thread somewhere on how to measure your room for the right size TV. He said these things need to be the right size or it's just too much and difficult to view.
He has a lot of customers who refuse to listen to him and in about a month, they wind up regretting it and are stuck with a gigantic TV that is uncomfortable to watch.
I think we're about 9 feet from the TV, maybe a little more. I never measured but my living room is really small. Actually, my whole house is!
