Yeah, I know I can't save them all. I'm pretty sure I did the right thing by these two. There are a few strays in the neighborhood that some of the neighbors here feed. I've caught a glimpse of one once. I think they live in the abandoned house on the corner. I wish they'd do something with the two empty houses here. It's 10 years since the murders and jail sentencing. SOMEONE should clean up and either sell or move into them.
Anyway, once in awhile one of the male strays hangs around the house causing a ruckus with my guys but I just chase them away. These two were definitely abandoned. They settled in too quickly. I can even cut their nails, clean ears (Mikki's was yucky!) and they love to be brushed. That is not the behavior of a feral cat.
