Is the ford rep chick named crystal? If so shes the same ford rep on the f150 forum she seems to get shit done from what I saw some of the other truck owners issues and them getting solved.

Went to the paint guy the mechanic recommended yesterday. I can't afford stripes. He doesn't even want to do them and said it will cost me like $10K. He doesn't do the 'stickers' and recommended someone down the road and go figure, he's gone. So he promised to either find him or find someone else. He said the stripes are jacked too.

I may do like twist said and break the dealers chops for awhile too. I want to go and look for any dealer who has some with stripes on them on the lot for now and take a lot of photos before I go back in. Armed to the teeth with knowledge. If I have to drive out to Detroit, then so be it. We can visit family while we're there. But I'll be damned if I pay for this shit to be fixed. The prep guy fucked up the paint to start with and he just keeps on fucking up.

He made a fatal mistake. Tim at the dealer has been keeping his identity and my meeting him a 'secret'. Dumbass left a bottle of touch up paint in the glove box and it has his shop sticker on it. When it's all said and done and the risk of more fucking spite work is over, I'll be giving that good for nothing asshole what for.

If you saw it in person you'd say something different. It looks like someone took stickers and slapped them on the car. Now I've got bubbles that are going to burst once they expand in the sun long enough and there is some hair UNDER the stripe and it's worn in enough that you can see them easily if they're only slightly dirty. Never mind the guy cheated on the last fix and omitted 4" under the license plate.

The rear is peeling under the long light bar under the tail fin and the cut outs around the lights are lifting too. It just looks like shit. It LOOKS like stickers some kid put on.

oh well you didnt say bubbles were in it. if thats the case make them pay for another place (the dealership) to fix their fuck ups.

I rule. Did some deep digging this morning and found the place the dealer gets these dual stripes. $372.00 if I want to buy them myself.

I explained the situation to the guy and he is sending me a list of certified people in my area that can put these on AND the 4 page - hear that? 4 PAGE instruction book that comes with the kit so I can have some education before I call the dealer again regarding these.

I am not calling the dealer until I am fully locked and loaded and ready for anything.

Talked to Ford customer service too and the issue is noted and it's fully understood that I will NOT spend one dime to rectify this, even if I have to drive to Detroit for satisfaction.

No black mark will be noted on the dealer yet unless he gives me reason to. I don't want to make an enemy of my dealer in case I need mechanical warranty service!

You can go to any dealer for warranty work, fuck it, hammer him and then go elsewhere if there is a recall or something else.

I know Twist, but this guy is close. Farther away than the one three miles down the road. I'm going to see what they say and do. I'd rather let them give me good reason to fire them and bad mouth them openly first.

I have the name of the stripe guy the 3M people gave me and I'm going to have a talk with them first, get prices etc on what they charge and again, go in locked and loaded to the dealer. I am not letting them do the stripes again. If they give me a hard time, I'm calling Ford and making them handle it.

So, update on the stripe dilemma.

The dealer offered me $500 and they'll take the stripes off, fix the paint and I can get them wherever I want. I'm taking the deal. Today sometime after lunch I'm going to the bodyshop that Matt is friends of the owner and he's going to look at the car and give me a price to PAINT them on and he's going to give me a discount if he can use the car as a showpiece.

So, if the price is right, I make out all the way around on this one.
