Yeah, I saw that. Just didn't know if you regarded marital rape in the same category.

My Pharmacist was dealing with this for our local PCT until last year when the rules for EHT changed. The first thing we had to in counseling is offer to contact a parent. Under 16's have often been referred by the school nurse, or the Youth support group or even dragged in by another school friend. They are usually petrified of their parents and the last person they want to see is their mother or father. These girls are not usually from troubled families surprisingly and just know their parents still look at them as their 'little princess'. Yes - stopping the night before in an Ideal World would perfect, but who can put their hand on their heart and say they did the right thing, every time? Totally in support, many of our clients from the Addictions clinic come into this category. I see the mental mess they become. ![]()

A resolution to avoid an evil is seldom framed till the evil is so far advanced as to make avoidance impossible.

0 slightly off topic but I thought I'd post it here.
http://io9.com/5857767/more-than-55-out-...not-people seems that almost a majority of Mississippi people agree that fertilized eggs are not people, at least not quite yet.

0 I'd offer a litany but Havoc stated it quite well. So......what he said.
My biggest gripe with "total choice" is the tendency for some people to use abortion as a form of retroactive birth control. If you choose to have irresponsible sex........deal with the consequences and accept personal responsibility. That goes for BOTH sexes. Get pregnant as a result of consensual unprotected sex......be a mother and deal with it. Get a woman pregnant due to the same......MAN UP and be a father!

0 To a degree I mostly agree with you. It should be used only as an last resort in most cases. After all, there's always the morning after pills and other forms of birth control.
although the problem here isn't incorrectly using abortion as birth-control. it's the fact that both men and women in most of those cases usually didn't know how to use birth control correctly. hell, in half of those cases, they were teenagers who weren't even taught how to correctly use birth control because the parents and or the school was paranoid that it would only actively encourage them to have sex. when most likely they were ALREADY having sex to start with. Abensentice is way too much of a unrealistic expectation to have of a teenager, espeically a horny teen pumped up on her/his own hormones to start with. You're basically lucky as an parent if your child decides to at least hold off having sex until College, and in college they're almost more irresponsible than they were in High school. They just officially became adults in a sense, and they can get away with a lot than they would had at home. also that kind of thinking will also damage them as adults, because as adults they will still have no idea how to use birth control correctly, unless somebody out there is willing to walk them though it. That's why I'm all for early sex education, starting with age 13 and up. This way when they come into the "hormonally-charged horny stage" of their life they can think back to their sex education class and think: "oh, maybe we shouldn't do this yet. We can't do this without condoms and birth control pills, and I'm not old enough to have those things yet. Maybe I'm not ready for sex yet." There could be Sex education classes for adults too as well, just like a refresher course to make sure that every man and woman knows where to get things like morning after pills and things like that. did you know there's STILL people out there who actually believes in that whole "pull it out before you cum" method? they don't even know that you still can get pregnant that way. at least with the knowledge on how to use real birth control correctly, it cuts down on any need for abortion. unless the woman in question is at risk.

0 Ah yes the pullout method. Tis the reason Catholic families tend to be large!

0 I also believe in post-natal abortion, at least up till the age of 18. She got nine, I want mine.

So very true! It isn't actually teens that are seeking EHT but the middle age upwardly mobile business woman, who have 'forgotten'. Then there are the blokes who arrive hoping to buy the stuff for their embarrassed girl friend, 'sorry' they are just going to wheel them in and pay the price. (We are nice - really) When the partner turns up we sometimes have alarm bells, particularly if the same bloke turns up with different girls. Then we strongly advice STD tests! Something not yet mentioned on this thread. Did you know there are more OAP's catching STD's than ever before? ![]() |
