I already have one of those Giggle

Well it just dawned on me this morning that she may not have had kittens but is pregnant. Which would be another reason she was dumped off. I hope not. She' so tiny and young. I bet if I can get a look at her teeth she still has baby teeth in there.
She should settle in quickly here and I'll get her over to the vet soon enough.

How many animals do you have and what kind?

RE: Meet Sofie - Rhubarb - 08-09-2010

She is beautiful TK. She must be so happy to be settled again, poor thing.
As I was walking home tonight I heard a cat meow as I passed a gated wall. I stopped (I always say hello to a black cat further up the hill) and looked. No cat. So I went to move on and there was the meow. I stopped again and looked over the wall and got my chin bumped by this gorgeous young tabby with the loudest purr. It was actually sat on the wall but I didn't see it because it blended in so well.

I gave it a rub and saw it was wearing a collar and disc (I don't really like seeing a collar on a cat). It said

Two dogs and now 5 cats.

One dog and one cat are over 15 years old. I dont' expect the dog to live much longer. I just don't know what's keeping him alive at all right now. I'm hoping he just goes to sleep and not wake up.

Don't you know cats own people Trudi? Giggle

I always get nervous about cats that are friendly to everyone when they're outside. One of my cats got "adopted" for three weeks once when I was living on Staten Island. He came home I suppose after an escape. I found him clung to the window screen on the second story bedroom window screaming to come in! He never strayed away from the house again.

Iggy worries me. He's always cavorting with Dave next door and John across the street. At least they know he's mine. Sofie might be one of those friendly types too. She's not going outside until she's spayed and used to living here. Probably in the spring.

OK so how fast is this? I have the crate door open now. she's not ventured out yet but she loves her toys and loves being brushed.
The other cats don't seem to care much, the dogs don't like that she's locked up but now the door is open, they're ignoring her. She's back sleeping now.

Fed Mickey today. He was unusually skittish too. I think someone was messing with him. Thanks assholes, you just made my work harder.

My stray Scruffy cat got a clean bill of health at the vet today, missing some teeth and a little beat up, but in pretty good shape.

RE: Meet Sofie - Twitchin Kitten - 08-09-2010

Clap Congratulations Scruffy!

RE: Meet Sofie - Twitchin Kitten - 08-10-2010

No thanks! I think I'm collecting enough on my own. I was down to 4 from 10.

Sofie was allowed to prowl around the house overnight. I wound up on the couch again so I was able to supervise her a little. She found the food, litter box, the dogs didnt' bother her and only the other girl cats are hissy with her right now. But those two don't get along with each other anyway.

Daylight came and she went back into her little house to sleep. She is the sweetest thing ever too.
