Girlfriend and I got to see this today for free, and I quite enjoyed it. I've really liked Daniel Craig as James Bond, and this installment is no exception. I'm curious where they'll go from here though. Anyways, beware the spoiler below...

Very interesting that they've killed off Judi Dench as M. I'm wondering if she's just ready to retire, or if something more was behind it.

They killed THE Astin Martin!! Man, he fires up that car and you can hear the carburetor go vavrooooooommmmmmm

OK so matt tells me that the last 3 Bond movies were prequels. I don't see it. He says' it's common knowledge. I still don't see it being remotely feasible.

I loved this movie! Freakin' awesome and I think they set it up to take the story back to "old school" Bond style too.

Connery was the best, Moore sucked ass, and Brosnan was only good in Golden Eye. I think Daniel Craig does a great job.

They are prequels. In the first of the Craig ones he isn't 007 yet. He kills the guy at the start of the movie to become a "double Oh" agent. If you also look at Ian Flemmings' Bond Books, Casino Royale is the first one.

And if you look at the full list of Bond books and stories, you'll see Quantum of Solace was an early short story as well.

I would put brosnan before moore as far as nailing the james bond character, however moore did alot more of the series, it would have been interesting to me to see how those movies would have come out if brosnan did them.

Brosnan sucks as Bond. He does not carry the charm and charisma that Connery, Moore and Daniels bring to the character.

I have to say I eagerly read all of Ian Fleming's works, way back when. And I enjoyed the first few with Sean Connery. But since then, Bond has dropped off the radar of interest.

Is this thing still continuing? And are they now inventing new titles, since Fleming only wrote just so many novels?

Oh, they still haven't made a movie ouT of "Thrilling Cities" yet. Pehaps they can take Fleming's accounts of thrilling cities and incorporate a James Bond into the mix? That would be interesting.

Believe it, Bubby. Brosnan reeks of conceit. That's why he only did what? 2, 3 movies as Bond.

Daniels like the Connery and Moore has that quiet air about him that makes it work. I bet it's due to his attitude in his private life that he carries over onto the screen for the character.
