Yesterday we were set up as vendors at a local event for the SPCA. There was a co-operative effort between the SPCA, bike club holding a poker run and the fire company to help raise funds for the shelter.

There were bands scheduled to play after the poker run and meal which was included in the ticket price.

We were placed a fair distance from the stage but in a very good place for customer traffic so it's all good! Biggrin

After enduring drenching rain and finding that our canopy was water resistant as opposed to waterproof, we all took our turns going for food and awaited the bands (and the potential customer traffic).

Here's a video of the first band....if you could call them that...that played.
These guys sucked more than a fighter jet air intake port! I don't know who got them for the event but whoever it was should be strung up in the town square for subjecting us to this assault on our ears!!!!!!

At first I thought the lousy disconnected sound was due to us being about 500 feet from the stage and off to the side. I walked to the beer stand and unbelievably it started to sound WORSE! Then I went down toward the stage and OMG did it get even worse.

Click on the pic to get the video.

So, the question is......how the fuck did these music butchers ever get onstage before an audience? Apparently they play out because the second band recognized them. At least the next band was pretty decent.

OMG they sing worse than me! That's pretty bad.

Someone has sympathy. Maybe they're a charity case? The audience doesn't look like they care much either.

So how did you guys do? Did you do?

We did ok. Not stellar but definitely ok.

We covered the table and ticket fees with a bit of profit on top!

OK? I've heard clips of your band... compared to those morons above you had to look stellar!

Profit is good!

That's easy - someone donated a sizeable sum to the cause.

I could only take 20 seconds of that- You poor things having to punish your hearing with that.

My boss's son got together once (once) with some music friends and got a gig in a pub nearby. They were loads better than that (they are music scholars) and they got boo-ed off the stage. If they had played at the same pub I think they really would have been on the menu.

Our friend's with the band Ogri and the Caferacers play there about every 3 months and everyone is on the dance floor (first time I've seen Brickies rock and rolling with Plumbers- so funny)

Oh geeze Twitch....I gotta explain I guess. We weren't there playing with the band. We were there with the jewelry business as a vendor. Sorry if i confused you.

My band will be going out of the gate sometime in October if we continue on the track we're on. I have to record some material at practice and post it for everyone's scrutiny here!
